Food Addiction is real! The food addict is the person who reacts to food or certain foods differently to how a “normal” person would react – if such a word exists. A “normal” person, for example, is satisfied with a piece of cake or a single slice of bread, while a food addict does not know how to do it, or at least not with ease. The food addict will most likely continue eating to the point of feeling sick, endangering their physical and mental well-being.

Addiction is Addiction and it comes in all shapes and sizes.

The obsession with food and body image is also the main characteristic of the food addict. Similar to the alcoholic or drug addict, the food addict suffers from a “compulsion” to overeat and / or eat badly. For this reason the person is also called a “compulsive eater”, just as alcoholics who drink to excess are known as compulsive drinkers. The food addict may be able to abstain from overeating, but the obsession with food will continue anyway.

You are the only person who can decide what level of dependence on food you have but if you are still reading you have probably experienced a level of dependence on food.
